Newsletter martinmueller.dev 2022 week 34

August 28, 2022

Last week newsletter didn't appeared as I needed to relax a bit.

In this weekly newsletter, I write a summary of posts that got my attention during the week. I center around topics AWS, DevOps, Architecture, AWS CDK, Serverless, Data Engineering, Data Analytics and much more.

If you like my content follow me on my usual spots to hang around:

What's a framework? All about software frameworks

https://dev.to/contentful/whats-a-framework-all-about-software-frameworks-33l6

Frameworks are usually nice abstractions to solve certain kind of problems. This article explains what a framework is, why we use frameworks at all, the different kind of frameworks and much more.

Thanks a lot to the author Luke Stahl

AWS CDK Costs to Slack

https://greenchapel.dev/2022/08/23/aws-cdk-costs-to-slack/

That is a nice short article about how to send Slack messages via AWS CDK.

Thanks a lot to the author GREENCHAPEL JOHN

Sign your AWS Lambda packages

https://faun.pub/sign-your-aws-lambda-packages-39d3be4b18b8

It is about AWS Signer to put a signature on your Lambda code package. That is for security to make sure that no one tempered with your Lambda code. That is super cool and I didn't even know that you can do that. Though there are some manual steps needed to sign a package. I am curious if I somehow could automate that more with AWS CDK. If you know the answer let me know ^^.

Thanks a lot to the author Jean Velez Torres

Deploy AWS resources using serverless framework

https://dev.to/rashwanlazkani/deploy-aws-resources-using-serverless-framework-2772

A short on the point article for how to create AWS resources with the serverless framework.

Thanks a lot to the author Rashwan Lazkani
